Apprenticeships
The Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service now hosts local, regional and national apprenticeship opportunities.
Anyone who has previously registered on Apprenticeships Online will have to re-register on the new site.
What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprentices learn through both on and off-the-job education and training to build up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money at the same time.
The employer will pay your wages and give on-the-job training. All employed apprentices must receive a wage of £95 per week. You will also spend time with a learning provider studying key skills, team working, communication, IT, numeric skills and problem-solving.
An Apprenticeship offers NVQ Level 2 plus Key Skills and a Technical Certificate, and progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship. It lasts between 1 and 2 years.
An Advanced Apprenticeship offers NVQ Level 3 plus Key Skills and a Technical Certificate. It will last between 2 and 3 years. It is a recognised route into higher education.
