Divorce

Divorce is a difficult and emotional issue to deal with. Many young people have to deal with divorce.

If your parents or carers decide to split up, you need to understand that it's not your fault. Reading My Family's Splitting Up may help you understand some of the reasons why parents decide to live apart.

Nothing you have done or try to do can stop them. They have decided that divorce is the best solution and you must respect their decision.

The website It's Not Your Fault has loads of practical information for you if you are going through a family break-up or worried that your parents might be splitting up. Divorce Aid also has information specifically for teenagers, or you can get support via ChildLine or Worried? Need to Talk?

Don't forget, you can always chat to a Youth Adviser at school or drop in to your local Go for it centre if you are worried about how divorce or break-ups are affecting you.
