So you're over 16 and still need to make choices about your career. You may already be on a one-year course at sixth form or college - but what will you do when it's over? What are your options? And most importantly, what's the best route to getting your dream job?

You may want to continue with your education but are not sure how or where to study. You might be unsure which course to follow or feel the time is right for you to get a job. Check out the Connexions Direct (Post 16) website for loads of helpful information on Post 16 Choices, including special needs choices, the links to university websites and tips on picking the right course or job.

If you've had enough of the classroom, get other ideas for training and ways to get ahead if you are not interested in going to University

Having a disability shouldn't be a barrier to going to university or college. Visit After 16 or Skill – websites promoting opportunities for young people and adults with any kind of disability in post-16 education, training and employment across the UK.

Go to e-clips and enter the postcode for your local Connexions centre for more comprehensive information on all types of jobs and career paths or try one of the general careers information websites such as Careers A-Z or Brilliant Careers. If you're not sure what you would like to do, book an appointment with a careers adviser in your school, college or Connexions Centre.
